About Tree!Explorer QT

Tree!Explorer QT is a file manager for Zaurus SL series.
You can operate files in Zaurus embedded RAM, CF card and SD card.

Tree!Explorer QT visualizes the Linux multi level directory structure.

Tree!Explorer QT helps you to easily deal with the files - arrange MP3 files or move digital camera images from SD card to your Zaurus.

Anyone can start using Tree!Explorer QT now - it is just as easy as operating Windows Explorer.

How to install

You can install Tree!Explorer QT into your Zaurus as follows.

  1. Download ipkg file into your Zaurus.

    • If you are accecing internet from Zaurus, you can directly download from the link below.
    • If you are accecing from PC, copy the downloaded ipkg file to Install_Files folder in Zaurus RAM. "Zaurus Drive" might be good for copying.
    • You can also copy the ipkg file to ../Document/Install_Files folder in CF or SD and then install.

  2. Boot "Add/Remove software" and install ipkg file.
  3. Tree!Explorer QT is ready to start from application tab in Home.


    * No guarantee for SL-A300, SL-B500 or SL-5500.
    I have not tested yet.
    Designed for VGA screens.

    * Right after the installation, the program is executed with low permission.
    This means files you can access are limited.
    Keep pressing(tap and hold) Tree!Explorer QT icon in Home and with root permission execution checked, you can access almost all folders.
    Remember, you must be very careful not to delete or overwrite imortant system files.

      Tree!Explorer QT is developed on "Qtopia Commercial SDK 1.5.0". Not GPL.
      Publication of softwares based on or derived from this source code is prohibited.
      Partial application of the source code to your original program, however, is permitted up to 20 percent of the whole source code.

      Your programs will be kept in current license as long as the above is observed.
      For example, if your program is developed on "Qtopia Free SDK 1.5.0", it continues GPL license.

      I wish this source code helps Zaurus program developers to improve their programs or gives a chance to new comers to develop Zaurus programs.
